Covered swimming pool Altafulla

The covered swimming pool is part of the master plan for the "Sports and School Campus of Altafulla", a town nearby the city of Tarragona. The partial plan of 2005 mark several urban areas where specific projects will be developed, this area is one of them.

The sport facilities are designed as two main regular volumes placed in the ground taking advantage of the natural slope of the site. To access the complex we design a main upper axis, tangent to the cemetery, which distribute the different areas and continues until the "agora" (an amphitheatre who allows the main access to the pool and the multipurpose pavilion).
From this point all the itineraries are focalized and a global perspective of the agricultural surroundings of the town is given.

Two main elements conform the plaza: the pool and the pavilion building.
From the plaza, we have and upper and lower access to the pool and pavilion as well, both of them are located in the lower level. Beneath the plaza all the dressing rooms, gym and service spaces are located, connecting at the same level the indoor pool with the sports pavilion.
