Municipal Ecological Station "Base Eemil" and visitor center. Vitoria, Brazil

The Municipal Ecological Station Lameirí£o Island or "Base Eemil" covers an area of 892 hectares of mangroves. For, damaged, interior mangrove fringe is proposed to regenerate the ecosystem and landscape, while ensuring access to visitor activities and environmental education, as well as surveillance and monitoring.
Inside the station is the visitor center for tourism-related activities and environmental education. A set of built volumes opens like a fan watching the water. This volumetric make a point of tension and interest in the great square of access and also orients the view to the river, connecting the city with the mangrove and waterway area. The visitor center contains a reception, a 50-seat auditorium, a small library, administration area with dining and technical facilities. Also includes "viveiro da mudas do Mangue", a protected space of 350m2.
