Sports Pavilion. Altafulla, Tarragona.

The building has and upper body, which contains the multipurpose court and the audience balcony. A lower body, under the plaza, holds the dressing rooms, the administration and the gym. The main access is done throughout the amphitheatre situated at the beginning of the plaza. This space designed for several cultural activities, has in the close façade of the pavilion his natural backdrop and announces the access as a public space for the community.

To ensure the integration with the surroundings we use the natural stone of Altafulla in all the façades of the pavilion as well as horizontal wood beams in the longitudinal façades.

The "pergola" marks the visual connection between the plaza and the main court which communicate with the audience balcony (from where you can not enter directly to the court). This relationship allows multiple possibilities to organize cultural performances and leisure activities at the same time at the amphitheatre, the upper plaza and inside the pavilion.
