Park of Facilities and Gardens. Competition for the construction of a mixed facility (CAP, local police, social services) in Begur

The new facility is a gateway to the historic center. Aiming to be consistent with the character of the place, the building establishes the connections between the park and the historic center, and thus we imagine it as a building surrounded by green, a building - garden. We want, as a first step, to recover the garden that used to occupy this space, and in this way symbolically extend Arbreda park towards the center. The architecture is inserted into a base / plot / envelope of vegetation.
The spaces required by the program are designed with great transparency and openness to the outside, encouraging light and natural ventilation, starting with the underground car park.
The upper floors are a set of volumetric boxes that open onto the inner courtyards and the surrounding garden: a fragmented, small-scale architecture, without large gestures or visual barriers, hidden in the middle of the vegetation, paying attention to the architectural aspects and the coherence with the historic core.
The garden located on the roof is the most visible part of the building: from the perimeter at the upper level and to the most distant viewpoints, in a downward perspective we will see the public space and the landscaped roof as the most visible parts of this public facility.
