Building for the fire brigade of the port of Barcelona

The project propose a system of two intertwine boxes which define the plot corner and establish a clear operation of the building according to the required program. We propose a truck an private car access by Paseo de Montjuic street with a clear way out to Josep Carner Avenue. The pedestrian access in other hand is done through a new plaza located at the corner of these two roads, leaving space also for a small green area. The rest of the space is reserved for the courtyard and practice area, which includes a six storage tower located at the south corner of the plot.

At ground and mezzanine level there are located the technical and administration spaces which include a formation hall for 70 people, stock areas, machine and installation rooms, intervention clothes area and a reserved space for the Barcelona Port Authority. At first level we concentrate the rest and service areas for the personnel, such as the dressing rooms, restrooms, formation classroom, gym and a cafeteria area with terrace. Crossing ventilation and thermic control is always searched in all spaces, solar panels and green roofs are also proposed according to new building regulations. A wood pergola and automatic blinds are located towards the west façade for solar control.
