Preliminary Study for La Torre del Emir. Murcia, Spain
The proposal consists of the rehabilitation and reform of an existing and abandoned 20-storey structure in the center of the city of Murcia.
The idea is to transform this building into an attractive icon with a prominent presence as a reference image of the city.
To achieve this objective, the construction of an envelope or skin is proposed that conceptually complies with a "vertical garden" in reference to Murcian crops and that at the same time will penetrate the building.
As use, houses of various types and areas for collective use are proposed, but with a new contemporary air, providing it with new dynamic activities committed to social use, sustainability and the environment.
