Residential building with underground parking in Cabrera de Mar. Detailed Construction project

The object of the detailed construction project is a residential multi-family building with garage and storage rooms (18 housing units, 18 storage rooms and 36 parking spaces, community premises and community garden) located in the center of the old town of Cabrera, on a corner plot.
Developing and adapting the draft project, our work is characterized by a look "from the outside in", which aims to improve the building’s skin and adjust the inclined roofs of the central part, without changes in the program or the interior distribution of the building.
Aiming to improve landscape integration and adaptation to the terrain, the roof of the building is leveled in 3 sections, corresponding to the stairs. With this adjustment, the volume has less visual impact and the building integrates better into the scale of the neighborhood.
The openings of the facades, and especially those of the south facade, which overlooks the center of the plot, are adapted to improve its landscape integration. Slatted porticoes with wood finishing are incorporated and the same design of the slats is reproduced in some of the railings separating neighbors, resulting in an image more linked to the traditional architecture of the place. The final aspect is that of a contained, discrete and contextualized architecture.
