Preliminary study for a residential complex Santa Ponça in Calvià, Mallorca.

The residential complex is located in Calvià, Majorca, between Sa Morisca Archaeological Park and the Santa Ponça golf club. The plot of 11.965 m2, is surrounded by vegetation and has views towards the golf and Santa Ponça bay, 1 km far away. The project aims to take advantage of the privileged position, the existing vegetation, the views and the slope of the ground, which goes down towards the east. From the lowest point, next to the entrance to the golf Santa Ponça, there is the access to the parking and, through pedestrian tours by the communal garden, to the apartments, with have a surfaces of 120 - 150 m2.
The typology pretends to treat the set of dwellings as a houses group developed in height. Each dwelling has a direct and private entrance from the outside, and two underground parking spaces. The volume is defined by the horizontality of the terraces that follow the natural inclination of the terrain and the elements and spaces of interior-exterior transition: galleries, porches, pergolas, surrounding the communal pool located in the centre of the plot. It is an architecture inspired by the landscape, the climate and the constructive tradition in the area.
