La Calera - Detailed Construction Project. Conversion to residential use. Avila
The detailed construction project aims to recover the residential use of the building located on Hornos Caleros Street, 26 (known as “La Calera Building”, former headquarters of the Savings Bank), in the municipality of Avila.
It is a building with a unique shape, built in 1978. It was initially a block with 62 apartments, owned by the Avila Savings Bank. In 1984 its function changed from housing to office space.
The new residential program consists of 55 housing units, with 56 underground parking spaces.
The project also aims to improve accessibility and global sustainability, with interventions on the building's skin and facilities, highlighting the new main access, which will be made without architectural obstacles, on a lower floor than the current one.
