Preliminary study for the public parking and commercial avenue strategy proposal, Makedonia Boulevard - Sofia, Bulgaria

The Makedonia Boulevard is situated in a strategic point of the city of Sofia. It is related to the city centre and it is a one of the radial roads that structure the urban area.
The project proposes the relation between the surface and the underground. The proposal not only defines a project in the underground to take advantage of this surface for making a parking, but also determines a new space related to the public area of the Boulevard.
The deviation of the tram path allows the creation of a continuous longitudinal axis which connects the two squares at the ends of the intervention area. Also the project proposes transverse axes joining the two opposite sides for easy access and permeability of the boulevard.
On the other hand, the project has some vertical elements which connect the ground floor with surface and make the relation between all the levels. There are courtyards and volumes that lights underground levels.
On the first floor of the underground level is proposed a commercial area in the centre. This commercial area is structured by different volumes containing the program and a continue space with rest areas and courtyards with a vegetation that grows towards urbanization.
On the second floor o the underground level is proposed the parking area. The stairs connect directly with this level.
