Previus study for the Garden of Can Mantega, Barcelona

The Gardens of Can Mantega is a place that historically has been formed as a public space valued by the inhabitants of the neighbourhood. That's why the project begins recovering his transformation in the time and proposes to rescue the reference of the agricultural structure in longitudinal stripes that incorporate the program of the square and alternate to the activities, the equipments, the zones to stay and the natural areas. For the fact that around the square there are two relevant buildings as the Church of San Juan Maria Vianney to the east side and the hivernacle to the west side, we decide to create just over this axis east-west, through a space of hard paving, a more direct route and a visual union between these hierarchical elements. The proposal values the existent vegetation, trying to keep the trees that are not displaced by the building of the underground parking and displace the lesser quantity of feet. It gives a value to the pine wood, trying to enhance his mass through revegetation, to create a limit that controls the visual since and to the interior of the square. The trees proposed to the interior are deciduous which are organized according with the strips to create spaces in his interior.
