Central Square, Platja d'Aro, Girona

The project rehabilitates the actual central square of the town, where the city hall building is located. The proposal has three major aims:

The first one is to distinguish the M.N. Cinto Verdaguer street as the final axis of public building and the main connection from the centre to the sea. The second aim is to recover the symbolic and civic character of the space with the new design of the plaza.
This process is made by the homogenization of the plaza using one pavement type in every place except when arriving to the façade of the city hall, where a more noble pavement is placed to reinforce their presence in the urban context.
A new water fountain is also placed in front of the main façade of the city hall.
The third aim is to privilege the pedestrian circulation, allowing only cars to the entrance of the underground parking lot.
