Previous study of a renewal for a single family house at Cala Montgó, L'Escala. Girona

The project consists on the renewal of an existing single-family house. The site has the façade in the street Illa Mateua in La Escala, Girona. The allotment has a form of irregular parallelepiped, with one pending of approximately 17% and an area of 660.89 m.
The existing house has ground floor and a first floor. In the ground floor has a terrace for where the home is accessed to and a lumber room in the first floor there are 3 rooms and two baths, one kitchen, a dinner room and a small lumber room.

The renewal consists on the creation of a new access to the house, through the internalization of the antique terrace creating a new entry and a new space of communal life. The parking is also internalized being clear the differences between the functions of each one. In the first floor the kitchen is enlarged and it's open to one of the terraces, integrating both elements, the dinner room will also be integrated into the terraces broadening the spaces of light and communal life.
The one pending of the terrain provided the creation of separate terraces for different levels; the roof also transforms and wins life with a terrace for the appreciation of the fantastic view of the sea. A swimming pool is also proposed in this enlargement to improve the quality of the external spaces of the house. The coating in wood like final finish marks the volume of the enlargement with clarity in a subtle and elegant way.
