The site of the project is a long strip of land of approximately 1.5 kms. of length per 40 metres of average width, situated between the bath area and the old promenade. The Colon area is located towards the northeast part of the promenade, culminating with an open plaza.
The program of the City Council include all the beach services: public showers, lifeguards towers, red cross areas, 4 restaurants with double access (from the beach and from the promenade) parking space for 600 cars, parking lot for buses and an amphitheatre.
The design of this area follows the rest of the promenade, extending their pavements to the limit of its nearby constructions and finishing the pedestrian route with an open plaza which has a sculptural tower, an element of reference of the promenade and place of encounter, a place for rest and contemplation of the entire promenade as well as the immensity of the sea.
