Proposal for the Improvement and Recovery of the Landscape of Garbet Beach, Colera, Girona. Spain
The landscaping of Playa de Garbet represents the opportunity to re-naturalize an area that can ensure the preservation and continuity of spaces of high natural and landscape value and guarantee the urban discontinuity between Colera and Llançà. At the same time, the intervention, aimed at preserving and improving natural systems, wants to reinforce the ecological and landscape continuity between the sea and Cap de Creus (both PEIN spaces)
The following specific interventions are proposed:
- Access control, create a new one and restructure vehicular and pedestrian circulation giving continuity
- Regeneration of Dunes and existing vegetation
- Articulation of the spaces differently at each point of the terrain, to take better advantage of the trees and views.
- Avoid fragmenting and dividing the place with roads for vehicles and disruptive barriers
- Demolition of the existing beach restaurant
