Special Plan for Urban Improvement, Passeig Rius i Calvet. Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona

The aim for this Special Plan for Urban Improvement is to achieve a homogeneous built complex, correcting the discrepancy of the actual situation: height and rhythm variations, failure to the urban code and missing of urban continuity. The SMU-37 sector is located at the maritime front of the city of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona,Spain. Therefore, it has a very good long distance visibility. It is also the continuation of the maritime promenade and an important public space for the city. This edifications should have a coherent image over which the background vegetation and buildings can be projected.

At the south limit of the Rius I Calvet Avenue, there are 5 buildings which surpass the general plan alignment. This special plan also foresees the future alienation with the rest of the buildings. The new façades will have to respect the regulations established in the General Plan. It will have special attention the new buildings done besides façades constructed before 1910. They will have to adapt material, textures and colours, metalwork and woodwork, predominance of vertical and close composition over horizontal and open façades. As complement of the study, this Special Plan has general façades and perspectives of the proposal for visual homogenization of the sector.
