Preliminary Study for the Naturalization Plan of the Peralada Golf Course, Gerona, Spain

Naturalization is understood by the substitution of grass areas with high irrigation demands during the summer period, by native plants and vegetation, or by those that better adapt to the local climate, in such a way that the golf courses remain within of a landscape more in line with the region where they are implanted.
The main objectives to be achieved with the proposal are:
- Control and savings in the use of water, in energy demand and in the use of fuels;
- Improvement of the noble areas of play: Greens, Antegreens, Streets and Tees;
- The economic sustainability of the exploitation;
- The social and environmental "reconciliation" of the world of golf and those outside the golf world with the proper use of natural resources.
