Recovery and rehabilitation of historic facades of the “Old Warehouse of Olis Pallarès” building, Pere IV Street, Barcelona

The project aims to recover the original appearance of the facades of the building at 63-67 Pere IV Street, known as the “Old Warehouse of Olis Pallarès”, in Poblenou. To achieve this, repairs must be made to some of the façade elements, unify carpentry and, above all, restore the original appearance of the ground floor, greatly affected by subsequent interventions that have caused key elements of the original project to disappear.

Both facades belong to a mixed-use building (industrial and multi-family residential) from the early 20th century, known as the “Old Olis Pallarès Warehouse”.
Although both facades received a dignified, representative treatment, the main one is located on Pere IV Street, and it is much more decorated. The façades are symmetrical, in a “1900” (“noucentista”) style, with quite a lot of classical inspiration. The central part stands out: it is crowned by a semi-circular pediment with a mosaic that identifies the company.

The project aims to restore the facades by eliminating non-original superimposed elements, recovering the original architectural holes and recovering the facings (textures, chromaticism, carpentry of all the openings with the original layout...). Always respecting the spatial structure defined by the original design.
