Conversion in the commercial center of the old textile factory Casanovas, Sabadell.

The project is the conversion of a former textile factory, Casanovas factory in Sabadell, located in the neighbourhood of Sant Oleguer, in a multi use shopping centre.
We have studied several programs references worldwide, capable of combining commercial use with other types of activity such as culture, art, entertainment, etc....
This new commercial centre combines light industry linked to an art and crafts school, with restoration, culture, thanks to exhibition spaces that run the plant, and finally with trade itself.
The project is developed around a large indoor garden that connects the two main entrances and saves the difference in level of 5m through some steps. The different spaces are situated in relation to this central space according to their uses. First there are bars and restaurants taking advantage of the garden to spread its terraces in, then open type stores that extend their space to the circulation, and finally the industrial use in a more secluded area outside the interactions with the garden.
The first floor will house the school directly linked to a flexible professional workshops which share the space as needed. This parte will be complemented by stands in which production can sell directly to the public.
