Lobby renovation and elevator installation in a historic building in Barcelona's Eixample district
The aim of the project is to improve the accessibility, preserving to the maximum the patrimonial values of the building, recovering and emphasizing its character as a noble estate: it is a unique, authentic and well-preserved historic building, located in the Quadrat d'Or of l'Eixample.
In this sense, the main design criteria of the project are to recover and preserve all the elements with architectural value: the original access gate to the estate, sgraffito’s, hydraulic floors... all the details of interior decoration interest are preserved or restored, to highlight the character of the space.
To improve the accessibility, an adapted elevator is introduced in the inner patio, the interior route is adapted, the opening of the original door is widened and the architectural obstacles are eliminated.
